CHILD CARE

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services offers financial assistance to eligible parents and caretakers to help them with child care costs while they engage in work, educations or job training. Families can be eligible to have all or part of their monthly child care expenses paid on their behalf

Parents and Caretaker are able to select from licensed providers and centers to meet the specific needs of the child and family. Providers and centers must meet health and safety training requirements to ensure that children and families have access to quality child care. 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • Eligibility is based on gross income at or below 130% of the poverty level
  • Parents or Caretakers must be employed in school or job training
  • Parents or Caretakers receiving Ohio Works First cash assistance
  • Homeless
  • Required by a children's services case plan to have protective child care for children living in the home
