 | New to the area and need to sign up for waste collection services? First, you will want to contact your local government (city, village, or township) to see if they contract for this service on your behalf at a discounted rate.  | At various times throughout the year, the SWMD will host recycling events for items such as scrap tires, electronics, paint, and household hazardous wastes. The best way to be notified of these events is to sign up for Text Alerts on your mobile phone. Simply text the word RECYCLE to phone number 69310 and never miss another event. |
 | Compost is organic material that can be added to soil to help plants grow. Food scraps and yard waste together currently make up more than 28 percent of what we throw away and should be composted instead. Making compost keeps these materials out of landfills where they take up space and release methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Composting is easy and can be fun.  | Clinton County Solid Waste Management District loans out FREE bottle-shaped disposal containers designed to collect empty bottles and cans. When the event is over, the container can be emptied at any Clinton County drop-off recycling location and returned to CCSWMD.  | Do you love your community? Want to show it? Conducting a clean-up of a local park, school campus, or bike trail is a great way to show your community pride. The Clinton County Solid Waste Management District would like to help. The SWMD has free litter cleanup kits available to groups interested in helping to remove litter and other debris from public grounds in communities around Clinton County.
