• 1974 Graduate of Xavier University
• 1977 Graduate of University of Cincinnati (Juris Doctorate)
• 1979 entered private practive with her husband John to form the law firm of McElwee & McElwee
• 1978-1985 served as Magistrate for the Clinton County Common Pleas Court
• 1989 returned to the Clinton County Common Pleas Court as a Magistrate.
• 2003 Appointed as Chief Magistrate for the Clinton County Common Pleas Court
