Voting is now open for Ohio Business Magazine’s “Best in Ohio Business” Awards. Once again, the Wilmington Air Park was selected as one of the top three airports in Ohio, and now the voting is up to the public.
The Wilmington Air Park is one of the most important job hubs in the region, being the home to 14 businesses and nearly 4,600 employees. It also serves as a logistics gateway to southwest Ohio as the highest volume cargo airport in Ohio, according to Bureau of Transportation statistics. It is one of the top three cargo-focused airports in the nation based on studies from DePaul University.
“Many generations, through thick and thin, have called the Wilmington Air Park a second home ,” said T. Alex Beres, Executive Director of the Clinton County Port Authority, the entity that owns the airport, “and they might not have ever flown in or out of it, instead they’ve modified and repaired freight airplanes, packaged and overnighted by air the country’s Christmas gifts, and tested and proven critical technologies for our national defense.”
Ohio Business Magazine is in its fifth year of this review. It has selected the top three airports based on nomination qualifications and now it is up to the voters. The other airports selected as finalists are Dayton International Airport and John Glenn Airport in Columbus.
Voters are encouraged to vote daily for the Best Airport in Ohio – and vote in other categories as well. Ohio Business Magazine is looking for the Best in Ohio Businesses – and it wants your vote.
Voting opened on September 5 and runs through September 22, 2024. Everyone is encouraged to vote every day at https://bit.ly/BestAirport2024. Additionally, the link will be available through the Wilmington Air Park and Clinton County Port Authority LinkedIn pages, and at WilmingtonAirPark.com.
