Ohio Business Magazine Recognizes Outstanding Workplaces
For the fifth year in a row, the Clinton County Port Authority has been selected by Ohio Business Magazine as a “Best Workplace in Ohio.”
The magazine’s annual program recognizes workplaces in a variety of categories, with the Port Authority honored as a government entity with fewer than 50 employees. Nominations, which were submitted in February, collected information about employee engagement, benefits, and awards and recognitions.
“Here at the Clinton County Port Authority, we believe in a workplace culture that thrives on dignity and respect, recognizing that our team members are not just employees and colleagues, but valued individuals with families and personal commitments”, said Alex Beres, Clinton County Port Authority Executive Director. “By fostering an environment where family comes first, we empower our people to bring their best selves to work every day.”
In all, 59 Ohio businesses were included in the rankings in categories based on size (companies with fewer than 50 employees, with 50 to 200 employees, and with more than 200 employees) and type of business (public, private, partnership, nonprofit, and government). The Clinton County Port Authority was once again the only business recognized in Clinton County, and one of only two government entities in the state recognized. The statewide winners included businesses in retail, finance, professional services, healthcare, dining, personal care, education, and entertainment.
“We have the benefit at the Port Authority of being able to continue to grow our team and expand our strengths,” said Beth Huber, Chief Operating Officer of the Clinton County Port Authority. “With the support of our Board we are engaging more with our community and region.”
In the article announcing the winners, Ohio Business Magazine editors reflected: “From generous benefits and, dare we say, fun offices to serious commitment to the betterment of employees and the communities these workplaces reside in, the Best Workplaces in Ohio each demonstrate wonderful qualities for current and potential future employees.”
The Summer edition of the magazine is available online and highlights many of the companies and institutions recognized as Best Workplaces, including the Port Authority.
