Location and Description
Oldaker Wildlife Area is a 140-acre state wildlife area located 7 miles west of Hillsboro. The property is in Highland county.
History and Purpose
Acquisition of the Oldaker Wildlife Area began in 1944 and continued through 1945. The property was acquired using multiple state funds. Wildlife Restoration federal funding was used to acquire the property. It is easily reached from U.S. Route 50, six miles west of Oldaker Wildlife Area Hillsboro, by traveling one mile northeast on County Road 6-C. The area lies on the northwest side of the road just south of the village of Russell. One parking lot is located on the south side of the area.
