Our County is progressive and fast-growing but rooted in a rich agricultural heritage. What makes Clinton County unique is outstanding people and unparalleled access:
R&L Carriers, ABX Air, Sewell Motor Express, Ferno Washington, Showa, Ahresty, and Alkermes to name but a few. We have one of Ohio's most skilled and fastest growing employment bases, and our hometowns offer a great quality of life- offering diverse housing options including Italianate mansions, country farmsteads, rolling horse farms and modern planned subdivisions.
Clinton County is dedicated to quality social, economic and physical development. We are proud that from transportation and warehousing to high-technology engineering and biomedical research, Clinton County is home to one of Ohio's most diverse and technically sophisticated corporate landscapes. We boast one of the region’s best integrated workforces with training through Southern State Community College, Great Oaks and Wilmington College and our prime location to the growing populations of adjacent suburban Warren and Greene Counties. Our progressive linking of the development review process, workforce training and economic development tools allows Clinton County to be the premier competitive location in Southwest Ohio.

Since the CCRPC is uniquely structured to support planning efforts across political boundaries, it serves as an important leadership forum for development and planning issues that face the County. The CCRPC drafted the County’s first Comprehensive Plan and the most recent update and administers the Clinton County Subdivision Regulations, as well as drafts the Clinton County Zoning Resolution and develops/contributes to planning projects in the villages, townships and the city.
WHAT IS PLANNING
The term “planning” may have many different connotations; perhaps some view it as government bureaucracy, a part of politics, or as a process to express community concerns or advocate for a cause. But most importantly, planning is about improving quality of life and the development choices that impact the social, economic and physical development of the County.
To improve quality of life, we know that the planning process must deliver vision- an understanding of community wants and needs and providing tools to local leaders to attain them. This focus on local empowerment, technical assistance and community improvement is our commitment to you, the Citizens of Clinton County.

PLANNING THE WAY
The CCRPC is committed to active funding and coordination of planning processes in areas most affected by growth; we are currently leading the Gateway Local Comprehensive Plan process which involves Chester, Adams and Vernon Twps. and the Village of Clarksville. Perhaps most importantly, we support local planning capacity by advising our member municipalities, assisting with grant writing, and facilitating planning discussions that span political jurisdictions.
The planning process is always one of collaboration, each plan has an extensive public outreach component and if you would like to be a part of a committee or give your input any of these issues or others, please contact the CCRPC at anytime staff@clintoncountyrpc.org or 937-382-3582 .
