What does the County VSO do?

A SUMMARY OF THE DUTIES AND SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE VETERANS’ SERVICE OFFICE

The Clinton County Veterans’ Service Office employs certified service officers who can assist the veteran or their dependents in filing for the following DVA benefits:

  • Service-connected Compensation
  • Non-service connected disability pension
  • Survivor’s pension
  • Death benefits
  • Burial benefits
  • Burial monuments
  • DVA health care enrollment
  • Education benefits
  • DVA home loan eligibility
  • Vocational rehabilitation
  • Replacement documentation
  • Replacement decorations or medals
  • Upgrading or correcting discharge documents
  • Any other available federal or state DVA or VSO benefits

We will also monitor claims once they are filed and will follow through with assistance or appeals when necessary.

Our office can assist you in contacting Ohio Veterans’ Homes in helping to provide quality independent living, and long term nursing care at the homes in Sandusky and Georgetown, Ohio.

Our office provides multiple service for the military veteran which include temporary county level assistance in emergencies with:

  • Rent or mortgage
  • Utilities
  • Food
  • Medicines
  • Eyeglasses
  • Hearing aids
  • Transportation to DVA appointments at VAMC Dayton
