Kinship Care
Kinship Care is a temporary or permanent arrangement in which a relative or friend has taken over the full-time substitute care of a child whose parents are unable or unwilling to do so.
Children are in Kinship Care due to many reasons including the death of a parent or parents, military deployment, dependency, incarceration of parents, child abuse/neglect, substance abuse, poverty, teen pregnancy, chronic illness of a parent or parents and domestic violence. If you are a kinship care provider living in Clinton County, Ohio, the Clinton County Child Protection Unit can offer you many services including:
Case management to access services and support groups within the community
Home visits
Referrals to legal services
Respite care and-or child care
Referrals to mental health and other services
Transportation
KPI - Kinship Permanency Incentive
Support groups for children and adults
Training for kinship providers
Relative homestudies when requested
Resource manual
