The Clinton Kids & Cops Program began in Clinton County as a program to provide underprivileged children the opportunity to shop for Christmas presents. Children Services worked with local law enforcement agencies to raise money and law enforcement officers helped the children shop. While the program was very successful, Children Services workers saw a much greater need in the community. There were several groups and organizations eager to help children have a nice Christmas, but more and more children were being sent to school without the supplies needed to get a good education. In 1997, it was decided that Clinton Kids & Cops funds would no longer be used for Christmas gifts, but to provide needy Clinton County children with back-to-school supplies and clothing. Since then, the program has been going strong, helping over 200 children each year.Due to the current economic problems in Clinton County, many families who have never had to ask for assistance are seeking help for the first time. Because of this, we have had over 400 children referred to the program already this year.If you would like more information regarding the program and how you can help, please call Julie Adams at 937-382-5935, extension 1248.2009 Golf Outing Wrap Up |
